Redevelopment of home and commercial stud farm in Cheshire

The brief

The client wanted their existing home and related commercial stud farm to be re-developed into a new principal dwelling, with new and improved stud buildings and a new groom’s cottage.

NWD’s approach

The project required phased demolition, which meant NWD Architects’ Technical Director, Matt Davenport, had to optimise the initial designs in order to facilitate this. It also meant extremely detailed pre-planning of each phase was called for. As the site is sloping, cut and fill was required to achieve the significant rebuilding required for the redevelopment.

The outcome

The new groom’s cottage is already complete, the new stud buildings are now up and running and the main dwelling is nearing completion.
