Conceptual design for house refurbishment in Snowdonia National Park
Updated: Nov 8
Our client contacted NWD Architects having been referred to us because of our significant experience working with existing buildings in rural locations. The client had purchased the derelict property with outline planning approval to reinstate and renovate the house. They approached us to increase the floor area by approximately 30% and improve views our over some of the finest views in North Wales. We spent time developing a conceptual scheme and, following client approval, then rendered a model to demonstrate the appearance, style and massing of the proposed dwelling and how it was positioned in the greater landscape. The home will be one of the finest mid-sized properties to be constructed in the Snowdonia National Park as well as being one of the most efficient as it will be constructed to meet Passivhaus standards. Both of these facts will pale into insignificance when compared to the views from the new rooms and sheltered patio however which are truly breath-taking. NWD Architects Ltd developed the concept in BIM and then used some of the most advanced Rendering software available to produce the renders. The client has also benefited from a Virtual Reality tour of the property which has informed them of the proposed arrangement of the house and has also allowed them to preview the views of Snowdonia they will have from the various rooms.
