Designing country home for self-build project in Cheshire village

The brief

Private clients were looking to build their own home on brownfield land in Cheshire on a plot adjacent to their existing property. They appointed the architectural team at NWD to design the house and take the project from original concept through to securing planning permission.

NWD’s approach

A member of NWD Architects’ team, Heather Done, who is an experienced RIBA registered Architect,  provided detailed drawings for a beautiful country house. The main challenge was to ensure that the design was appropriate for the surrounding area and would demonstrate to the local planning department that the new house would have no detrimental impact on the open countryside surrounding the site.

The outcome

The planning application was approved and construction has started on site. The clients will be selling their existing house and moving into their new home upon completion.
